Samoens Office du Tourisme
Residence les 7 Monts History
It is in 1892, , when a new railway was brought into service. It started with steam train connecting Geneva to Samoëns. The country cottage & residential “the Seven Mounts " slowly was constructed with the pickaxe of my great-grandfather.

And it is afterwards, ten years of hard labour, that the establishment, then namely Hotel de la Gare (Hotel of the Station) at the beginning of the last century, was inaugurated under the chairmanship of the head of the firemen, Captain Adelin Rannaud.

With more than two meters with its bearskin of the time, symbol of professional carrier, until 1914, he ensured the lodging, feeding and displacement of travellers on a horse-drawn carriage over the High Valley of Giffre

Lucie Coffy, also called Louise Jay, took over the management of the hotel at the beginning of the First World War and the hotel survived until the beginning of this present century under the management of three different generations, with an adaptability to the constantly changing requirements imposed by customers. The hotel grew from a five to fifteen ‘’single star’’ rooms capacity, and then, to thirty-five ‘’three stars’’ rooms with an organized joint ownership of 32 studios and apartments, “Béthanie”.

Then, in 1947, the hotel became the “the Seven Mounts” named after a popular public place built in 1936, which finally became the parking space of the railway station. This happened due to the extension of the electrical network as far as Sixt.

At the dawn of spring 2001, following my retirement from business, under the constant administrative pressure from the authorities and new laws implemented, I passionately undertaken to transform the fifteen last rooms into rental apartments.
